Our Story

We heard and started experimenting with bamboo on some projects in Architecture School but it wasn't until 2014 that we decided to pause all we were doing at the moment and embarqued on a life time adventure. We started taking action at Raleigh in some international volunteering programs to conserve land, build resilient communities and shape leaders between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Started as a volunteer and ended up managing environmental projects in Costa Rican National Parks, with volunteer groups harvesting bamboo and building camps to help conserve nature. People from different cultures with diverse backgrounds and a broad range of ways of seeing the world from different perspectives started the fire for traveling and eventually leading us to the Festival World and LifeStyle. Attended Envision for the first time on one of our travels and that opened our eyes to what can be possible working together towards a common goal and building a Human Experience using bamboo. Worked our way up from volunteering in the info booth, to running the coffee shop and later making an internship for the production building team to bring to life the Bamboo Yoga Temple Armonía in 2019 with Gerard Minakawa and the Bamboo DNA team that hosted and formed us in the following years on several temporary and permanent projects blowing and opening our mind to what could be accomplished with bamboo, dedication, passion and team work. In 2021 we joined Gerard Minakawa and his Bamboo DNA team for another bamboo permanent structure, Sol Center Yoga Temple in Pavones, where we collaborated on the structure build and led the earthen floor layout and roof substructure for installing fake palm alongside with the fire circle made entirely of rocks. By the end of 2021 and begining of 2022 with confidence and some experience on the background we made a big jump on our carreer by designing and building the Bamboo Maze Human Experience and stage, and simultaneously leading driftwood decoration with Botanical Bunny and his magical plants on the Main Stage for Labyrinto New Years event in Nosara that showcased our work to other latitudes of the world. Our plan is to continue working hard on several bamboo projects on our Farm to conserve land, showcase our work, share bamboo and natural building practices in workshops and get invited to lead and build different bamboo structures and natural buildings on several places, travelling all over the world on our path of becoming bamboo masters and spreading the bamboo fever.
